If any one is interested in Orchestrating,
There is a couple of great free on line courses here from the Garritan site.
Both have Audio examples, and they are both in depth full on study.

Classical
Principles of Orchestration - Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov

Jazz & Big Band arranging - by Chuck Israels
The best book I ever read (twice) on this was by [i]The principles of Orchestration[\i] by Samuel Adler. Brilliant book. Don't think it does Big Band stuff though.
Yep , i have that and it is great, although it is called 'Study of Orchestration'
also another good read is 'Sounds & Scores' Henri Mancini.
Orchestration - Walter Piston also worth a look.

If you don't fancy on line 'Principles of Orchestration by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov', Amazon do the Book & CD's set.

If you like to put this stuff [Orchestrating] to use in your DAW, this is great DVD, Groove3 MIDI Orchestration Explained

I have all of the above (the Rimsky Korsakov is on my desk in work, taunting me :)) but I also like these:

What I can't offer a solution for is the difficulties in finding the time to be able to absorb all of this stuff!!

If you like the Guide to Midi Orchestration - you will like the 'Groove3 MIDI Orchestration Explained'
Its on a DVD and goes into detail about what works with what Instrument wise, workable harmony,
How to get articulations out of even basic GM sounds etc.

On the other hand if you are not into that side of things, and just want the theory knowledge side of it,
and not the programming of articulations etc, it might not be for you.
