I'm no expert, but shouldn't it have some markings on the back of the headstock also?

well for starters its not a squire or fender it looks more like a sue rider bass

FWIW I'd say the neck ain't Fender, the curve at body end of fretboard & angle of E string to tuner look wrong for starters. Bridge & strap buttons too.
