woodyratm Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Hey guys, This will be an interesting thread. I currently might have some money just now (flat repair or new bass...) I have about 2k max to spend. I want something like my Lakland DJ4 since i love the neck profile of it. I will admit that i'm a sucker for a 70s jazz in Natural with maple neck and block inlays but thats not a major requirement. I prefer J style pickups and would like to be able to bypass a preamp (im not sure how the zvex pedals react with actives?) I've messaged Jon Shuker about a stock bass he appears to have just now, but i'm not sure if that will still be available etc. So... fun part. Anyone got any suggestions for me? Go nuts. Dave Quote

Ou7shined Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Repair your flat (hang on... hear me out ) then employ an up coming local luthier to custom build you something to your exact specifications for half the price and half the waiting time of a big name luthier. Twa birds wi a' steen. Quote

If you are expect a knock on you're door (knowing me, 3 hours later than orginally planned) at some point with some crazy specs for some ridiculous bass Though i probably would Quote
BottomE Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Alternatively, fly to the US have a holiday and buy a Hamer Cruise bass while you are there Quote

TRBboy Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Sandberg California JM or JJ Supreme. Awesome, awesome basses for the money. True passive bypass on the Glockenklang preamp with no volume drop. Check it out..... You'd probably have enough change for a bit of DIY too! Quote

Finishing off a P for someone this week. (I might cheekily post it in the gear porn section later seeing as the luck owner isn't a member) Try me.
