ashevans09
Heya, Just got a Mesa BB750 from the US and am looking to buy a transformer so I can use it. Will this little guy fulfill my needs? ashevans09
I thought the same, though when I took it to my local amp tech he told me I'd have to change out the transformer? I have to say I was surprised... Thoughts? Should I take it to a different guy and see what he says?
BassBod
I'd say contact the makers first - I'd be surprised if it wasn't a re-wirable tranformer. If it is....find another tech. BB
alexclaber
Also judging by the fuse rating you'd actually need an 1800W transformer. Even if the internal transformer does not have twin windings you'd be better off changing it to a 230V one than using a 230V to 120V step-down transformer as well. gypsymoth
leave the transformer in it, and get a voltage converter to bring it down. simple and cheaper. if you actually switch the amp over to 220/240, don't forget to reduce your main fuse value by half.
