Pete Academy Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Yet another player that gets overlooked. I was trying to find a YouTube example of a track from George Duke's 'Face The Music' album from a few years ag called '10 Mile Jog', but it isn't on there. Christian's playing is unbelievable. I urge you to seek out this track. Quote
lowdown Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Yer he is great [on both Electric & Upright] Garry Quote
jakenewmanbass Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I guess it depends where you are looking Pete, I wouldn't think of him as overlooked having toured and recorded with Benny Green in his early career and being sufficiently admired to make solo albums and play for Sting amongst a host of others. He is a fabulous player and was at 19 when he first appeared. Quote
risingson Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Great electric and upright player, he did an album with ?uestlove and Uri Caine called the Philadelphia Experiment, it was superb, check it out if you can! Quote
OliverBlackman Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I think it was jaco who said it was Mcbride who influenced him to get good when he saw him at youth jazz competitions in the states. Quote
