Mikefwlr
Hey, I have an EA NL210 cab and the woofers are on their way out. I'd like to get some new ones, contacted EA who recommended buying an upgrade pack from them. For about £300 plus postage from US. I am wondering if i could just buy some woofers in the UK to put in the cab. Any recommendations? I use it with a CXl112 for upright and electric. Also what spec? The cab is 500w 8ohm at the moment. So would i buy 2 x (250w 4ohm) woofers or do i need to take the impedance tweeter into account. (Tweeter dosen't get used so could just diconnect it. Any help appreciated. Cheers, Mike
xgsjx
Find out what drivers are used in the cab (it might be written on the back of them) & then check the web for the specs. Then look fir similar spec'd drivers.

Mikefwlr
EA seem quite secretive about the specs for their cusdtom drivers. Guess i could measure the impedance with a multimeter (but i don't have one), anyone know the specs of these woofers?
Mr. Foxen
It is Thiele-Small specs you want, rather than the usual diameter, coil size, magnet weight and wattage etc.

Measuring the impedance won't get you very far, I'm afraid. If you want to send me one before they both die completely, I'll measure the T/S parameters for you. It will do an impedance sweep in two seconds.
Mikefwlr
Thanks for the info regarding Thiele-Small parameters. Interesting stuff. There's a custom amp shop down the road, i'll see if they have the software and can measure it for me.
BassBod
From memory, the drivers are Eminence. Someone here put a replacement 10" in my old CXL 1x10 and was happy with the results - may be worth a search both here and under repairs? The CXL series drivers do seem to need replacing after a few years....hopefully they've improved things in later designs?
