Monckyman Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) Right, I posted on here in the items wanted for an ampeg 210. BUT. Considering the average price for an Ampeg 210 is £200 and the average price for an Ampeg 410 is £200, why buy the 210? OK it`s a bit lighter, takes up less space,(but as Wayne pointed out, only vertically), but financially it doesn`t seem to make sense when compared to other cabs. I have an Eden210t which sounds nice with the ampeg410, is it worth the aggro to get a matching top? The wife is utterly sick of my dithering. I need help deciding, so let`s have some pros and cons please. Ta. MM Edited June 24, 2011 by Monckyman Quote
Lozz196 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I had the matching SVT 410HE & 210HE, and it was a great sounding combination, and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes the Ampeg sound. I think the reason for the cabs being the same price is that the 210 is discontinued, so this has bumped the price up a bit. Look at it from the point of view that £200 for a 210 cab is still good value, its just that £200 for a 410 is very good value. Quote
Monckyman Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 A nice way to think. Lozz didn`t you also have a 115? Did the 15+410 combi work? MM Quote
Lozz196 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 No, I never had a 115 in the Ampeg range, tho am currently thinking of the Portaflex 115 to match my PF500. Quote
Monckyman Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 Ok, thanks Lozz. I haven`t given up on the PF500, I`ll be getting one as my backup/ second amp. Just waiting for the dust to settle a bit. Quote
