Would a jazz bass neck fit a musicman sterling neck pocket?

Hello folks,

Just thought I'd bounce this idea off you guys and gals, I have a chance to acquire a musicman sterling body and was thinking about putting a graphite neck on it. Status don't make a sterling neck only stingray necks but I think I remember reading somewhere that a sterling neck is the same size and profile as a jazz neck? Or have I got that wrong?
As usual any help much appreciated.

I think they have a similar-ish profile but the heels are very different - the Sterling is a 5 (or 6 - can't remember which) bolt.
