blind pilot Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Well for about a year I have been unsing a Behringer BTR2000 rack mount tuner, its always struggled with the A and E, more so when I drop to D, or even lower to B, but last night I used my new (to me) Boss TU-2, and I realise just how crap the Behringer was. Tuning takes no time, the notes are picked up so fast, cant belive the difference, I am happy! that is all! Quote
WILD FROG SHOT Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 It's a simple but very effective piece of kit! Quote
Bankai Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 DTR-1000 or DTR-2000 would probably be right up your street then! Quote
Lozz196 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Boss TU-2 - the industry standard - just about everywhere, and with good reason, a nice reliable dependable piece of kit. Quote
ThomBassmonkey Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 If only it were true bypass. They're good pedals though, the guitarist in my old band used one. Quote

chewrocket Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 I also got one recently too and it certainly kicks ass. I'v always struggled finding a tuner that 'does what it says on the tin' but the TU-2 actually does!! Quote
mike257 Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Been my go-to for years, and (almost) indestructible - can't go wrong with 'em really. Quote

Basses, amps, effects have come and gone but the tank like TU-2 has always been with me. Essential kit. T Quote
goblin Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 I thought about getting one after borrowing one and they're cracking, I just thought the display was a little small. The TU1000 has bigger display and more flashy lights Quote

0175westwood29 Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 i have a tu-3 even better than the 2, faster to tune, brighter led's and powers more pedals! wicked tuner! oh and due to it being boss its built like a brick s';t house! andy Quote
ThomBassmonkey Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011
Not an issue if you have a tuner out jack on your amp though.
True of course but if you don't have a foot switchable mute on your amp (or you're being DI'd before your amp), a mute from the pedal is pretty handy so the audience doesn't have to hear you tuning. Darkmeteor Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Well if someone was looking for an awesome true bypass pedal tuner, I would suggest the TC Electronics Polytune, I have it and love it, works for 4 5 and 6 strings, can tune strings individually or alltogether since it's polyphonic. The only thing I would have liked that it doesn't have is the ability to not cut the sound when the tuner is engaged Quote
