cycrowave
So you want to refinish that squire p-bass all your friends laugh at? need a shell pink warwick to match your shirt? well you arent alone, as many 'enthusiasts' achieve excellent finishes at home with nothing more than spray cans and determination. the internet can however be a confusing place and easily side track you with useless rubbish, so I have compiled below a list of useful links for anyone thinking of attempting to finish their own guitar. (please note the following sites contain information for guitar finishing using nitro cellulose lacquer, though there are many different materials and techniques out there.) Project guitar is a site useful for all aspects of guitar maintenance and construction, the tutorial section contains some great tips and tricks for finishing (the second link will take you directly to that section). There is also a forum connected to the site (which i also provided a link too). They also have a forum, I'v included links for a few useful pages i found there. http://www.reranch.com/ http://www.reranch.com/solids.htm http://www.reranch.com/101a.htm#final%20polishing http://www.reranch.com/reranch/index.php?s...1d944646998dbf3 Manchester guitar tech is a UK based luthier/trader who deals in nitro cellulose lacquer, and has in stock all the vintage guitar colours you will ever need. http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/ Last is paintyourownguitar.com, who have some well recieved ebooks. Not for free though... http://www.paintyourownguitar.com/ Thats all I can think of for now. Im hoping you guys can show me some other great sites as Im about to take the plunge and do my first finish Edited June 30, 2011 by cycrowave
