Finbar
Both these pedals seem to do pretty similar things. Anyone used both of them and have any insight to offer? I'm kind of intrigued. Mostly for direct recording to computer for demos, but possibly also as a compact gig solution. Do either of them react badly to being in a blend loop too? Don't want no phase nonsense! tayste_2000
I am a die hard SFT fan and they mix so well with Matamps its a simple choice for me
dannybuoy
Both totally different pedals, despite their Ampeg roots. The SFT is my favourite overdrive but it doesn't mimic a mic'ed up amp like the VT Bass is designed to do. I did a recording session a couple of weeks ago and went into the SFT into the VT - they work really well together. The SFT does flip the phase though! So for recording or gig emergencies, get the VT.
Finbar
I think the simplest option is to get hold of both second hand, try them out extensively, and then either keep both if I'm feeling self-indulgent, or flip one on for what I bought it for
