Happy Jack Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 GAK sell it new for £224 at the moment. If you want a hardcase to go with it, that's another £42. £150 BiN + £60 postage. I don't think so. Quote
E_MaN Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I had to post an alembic a while ago and the postage cost around 50-60 quid for it to go up to scotland ....I remember who that was with but yeah sometimes you need to...maybe not here though Quote

Dr.Dave Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Mail the guy - ask if you can arrange your own courier collection if you win. If he says yes , and you buy it - www.senditnow.com £10.99 and another tenner gets you £500 of insurance. Quote

markytbass Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) I think most shipping costs involve insurance of somekind. On an expensive instrument the insurance could be quite high. If I was having a grand's worth of bass shipped I would want it insured and well packaged (hard case flight case etc) which would add to the weight. However, our friend is selling a bass worth IRO £150-180. In my opinion he/she can't be arsed with the rigmarol off posting so has w@nked £60 on for postage probably to put people off getting it posted. Edited March 1, 2008 by markytbass Quote

I paid 24 quid with APC to send me Spector to Mike H and that included insurance for £350. Quote
markytbass Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I sent my MM Stingray + hard case for less than £20 that was with it insured for £750. The thing I like about couriers is that they collect from your door, you don't have to lug it to a post office. Quote
