Spoonman
Hey guys, I recently discovered these basses on the internet and was blown away by how stunning they look. I like the idea of having a short scale bass, and the whole retro thing is cool to me. Just wondered if anyone owned one, or had played one, and whether theyre any good basically? Is this worth my money? Tee
I'd say the classic white one on the bay was cooler Depends what you want from the bass. Very easy to play and fast, imo. You can really get some cool grooves going on, as it's a doddle to get around the neck. I happen to like the SG shape, so i think it looks pretty cool. Not for everyone though. Some people may argue it's too muddy, not if you use the bridge pup though. Great for classic rock. Sounds great with flats (thumpy sound) but equally good with roundwounds. Last but not least - they're different. I got loads of compliments at gigs for mine. Edited February 29, 2008 by Tee
