I'm currently refinishing a neck using an acrylic lacquer, its all going pretty well but i want to wet and dry to level it out before the next coat of lacquer and need to know how long should i let it dry for?

i gave it about 4/5 coats yesterday at 20 minute intervals and it starting to look real nice but i don't want to screw it up by cracking out the 600 grade to early!

I generally have a fleeting sand between coats, otherwise you will start to build up an orange peel effect.
Generally you can tell if it's ready for sanding the second the paper hits it - water will help if you are a bit premature. I stop at 4-5 coats in a day then let it cure for a day at least, usually more.
Leaving your neck in a warm dry place will help bring down curing times.

It's never too early to get out the 600 grade, it's just the rough precursor to the 1000+ grades. :)

You can say that again! Thanks for the advice, tbh it's actually a really good finish as is,I'm just wanting to flatten out where the decal is.
