Tinman
I'm not dissing your beloved county Bob (just in case you thought I was). It's just the bit of it where I am is too flat for my liking. There are, most definately, some lovely parts of Lincs. Just not so much around my neck of the endless fens.
Telebass
Oh, there's nothing wrong with Lincolnshire at all, and I drove past Swinderby a month or two ago...A46 still as damn dangerous as it ever was...it's just too damn FLAT!
rhino
Weird gigs - I worked with a country band in the early 80's and did a gig in Horncastle (I think). The audience were rowdy and the only thing that shut them up was when the drummer told them that Sooty would appear if they were quiet. (He had his arm behind the drapes at the rear of the stage and was moving the drapes with a drum stick.) This did work for a short while until the concert secretary informed us, and the crowd, that he had not booked Sooty. When asked about the gig, all we could say was that the audience were "with us all the way" but we shook them off at Doncaster!
