NancyJohnson
There's a trader selling Signature bass parts on eBay - usually they're loaded jazz bass bodies. I know that Alex Lifeson owned the [Signature] business and they were run out of business due to Fender lawsuits. TBH I'm tempted...£125 (obviously plus P&P and other stuff) for a loaded metallic red body. http://tinyurl.com/2rrax5 Anyone bought anything from here? acidbass
I believe the user 'gafbass' bought a bass off that same guy so he might be able to advise you! I've priced a bass myself with the seller in the past and he was very helpful.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'm not convinced. They may have nothing to do with the defunct "signature" brand from the 90s. Compare this "Signature" neck & body for sale with an SX. SX Jazz: Signature Neck Signature Body I know I've definitely seen a pic of an SX somewhere where the pickguard is a bit pissed like that one. And the signature neck looks identical to the SX apart from the decal - the truss rod access hole are the same on both but different to a fender and a bit "cheap" looking. Could these necks & bodies really be modern far east copies, rather than New-Old-Stock handmade US pieces? I don't know, but I wouldn't risk it. gafbass02
Hi Gaf here, i did indeed buy a signature bass, gotta say, it was fantastic service from start to finish. Sadly the bass was shoddy garbage, the neck and body were plainly not meant to go together, the hardware literally fell apart within a week it was so cheap, it took me a while to admit to myself how crap it actually was and i urge basschatters to be very careful about buying from there. My problem was that what i got wants actually cheap, and indeed in total cost more than a jap reissue so i was gutted, if i had got a super cheap set of parts things may have different! Thankfully i got my money back as the service truly was fantastic. Just be careful, dont spend more than you would on a cheapo back up or beater bass! Jono Bolton
Use The STRATosphere. For the same price you can get a decent Mexican or Jap Fender body from a reliable seller that's not going to rip you off. It's bass porn but chopped up into bits.
