booboo Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I've got heavy (Jamerson) Labbella flats on my P-bass, and TI (super floppy) flats on my jazz. Sound-wise I am a happy bunny, but these strings are such polar opposites that when I change between the two basses there seems to be an awkward time while my fingers/brain make the nessecary adjustments. Do Ineed to find a "compromise" string to use on both basses or do you think I just need to change my technique? Thanks in advance for any advice. Quote
The Burpster Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Hummmmn, weel you can either i) put up with it, or ii) experimnet with other strings until you get one nearer what you want. I've found out FWIW, that one bass will make the sound you want with 1 or maybe 2 different sets of strings tops. If that sound that you have is EXACTLY what you want then then you may have to put up with it. Quote
bass_ferret Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Its a bit like having light and heavy rounds - same effect. Try using lighter guage Labellas or dipping into the murky world of halfs. Quote
