Just wondering what brand of vocal mic stands you would recommend. I have gone through two in the past year - one was made by Stagg and the other by Giraffe. I wasn't impressed with either of them, they both used cheap plastic bits that just didn't stand up. Any advice on what, or more importantly, what not to buy would be much appreciated.

Yeah they're not actually Beyer..... just badged K&M stands.... if you want decent stands that will last years and get decent replacement parts... buy K&M... just be prepared to spend a bit of cash!!!

+1 for Hercules - I only buy them now as a matter of preference - they put up and break down easily, stay up without collapsing and don't break your fingers when you adjust them.

Yep, as above, K&M are the de facto standard for mic stands. Wouldn't live without them!
