Stompbox
Good afternoon - has anyone tried Olympia bass strings? There is a seller "Black Dog Music" on Ebay who is selling them - I'm interested because of the price - stainles wound flatwound s fro £16. That's cheap if they are any good, but, of course, that's very expensive if they are rubbish!!!! Just wondered has anyone had experience of them? Regards, Stompbox. Ancient Mariner
You could try these: http://www.webstrings.com/flatwound_bass_strings.html $17 (obviously + shipping). They're decent, fairly high tension compared to rounds, sound good to me on a precision.
redstriper
They sound pretty good here:
Hobbayne
I use them on my Squier jazz, they seem to be OK although the windings are a bit on the long side and sit on the saddle of the E string making the string sound dead.
Stompbox
Thanks for the replies. In the event I've ordered these:- http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/products/59...flatwound_bass_ A "Name" brand & only a pound more expensive, but £1.99 less for postage - so £1 off. Hah!
