davebass66 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Hi guys, hope someone can help me out here as I'm a little stumped! Installed an Audere JZ3D pre amp into my Jazz Deluxe. It also has Wizard '64's in it. each pickup individually sounds really great but when I have the pickup pan centred there is a massive decrease in volume.... Anyone experienced this? It wasn't a problem I had before i put the new pre amp in. I've email David at Audere but haven't had a reply. Thanks in advance. Dave Quote
ikay Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Sounds like it might be a phase problem - try switching round the hot/cold inputs for one of the pickups and see if that makes a difference Quote

I'm having a phase problem at the moment on some wizard pickups and Andy is very keen to help so get in touch with him. If it was fine before the preamp add I would be surprised if just swapping the wires round doesn't work Quote
davebass66 Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Thanks guys, I tried swapping the wires round this morning but it made it much worse so switched it back. It would appear that the pickups are in phase in the current wiring. Any other ideas?! Dave Quote

davebass66 Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 I did have some earthing issues when I first fitted it but have sorted it. Can't see why earth would affect the volume when the pickup pan is centered... It is a Jazz Deluxe, there is no option for passive mode on the JZ3D Dave Quote

krazy_olie Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I just had a problem with some wizard pickups i inherited on a bass i bought off here. volume drop when full volume. Contacted Andy at Wizard, he said send them over, I did and now the problem has gone away! Was a p/j but i imagine it's a similar phase problem. Quote

As I say, there was not a problem with this before I put the pre in.....Am gonna get it to a tech this week as my very limited knowledge is at its wits end!
