TimmyC Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) This pedal is the cream of the crop when it comes to fat synth tones. Extremely versatile, true bypass and in great condition. The last two that have gone on ebay have been over £300 plus postage so I'm asking £295 including delivery. Thanks Tim Edited March 8, 2008 by TimmyC
far0n Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Just curious but how much were these when they were first released ?
TimmyC Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 I think that they were quite expensive then Akai lowered the price for a blow-out just before they were about to be discontinued. Not sure on the exact figures.
Machines Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 ...why exactly did they stop making them ? Sorry for going off-tangent...
Toasted Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 They site lack if demand, which is clever code for "they're not making enough profit". They're also very complicated inside - so mfring cost must have been high.
mr.sibs Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 has the firmware on this pedal been updates at any point?
TimmyC Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 (edited) Sorry I don't know. Lots of interest but nothing definate yet. I can also send more pics to anyone who wants them. Edited March 4, 2008 by TimmyC
TimmyC Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 Stuff that I'm intersted in trade wise (+/- cash either way depending) - Avalon U5 - Ridge Farm Gas Cooker - Universal Audio SOLO/610 Tube DI - Demeter VTDB-2b Tube DI - Original Mu Tron III Envelope Filter - Xotic BB Bass Preamp - Focusrite Saffire Pro - Presonus Firepod - Fretless jazz or precision bass
G-bitch Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 They were £169 when released IIRC - but this was nearly 10 years ago so with RPI (not Brown's CPI bullshit factor), this probably isn't much over the new rrp. £80-100 were the shop prices after said shops bought huge batches of surplus from Akai when they were dicontinued, in fact, I'd be amazed if there was ever more than one huge production run.
