Jean-Luc Pickguard
Looks interesting, but I'm afraid I didn't get as far as signing up. I couldn't work out why they need my phone no and whether they going to sell my email address to spammers. Yes I'm a cynical old barstool

You then know who sent your email address off to the spammers lol!
7string
I think it's ran by a guy who posts regular on TB. Nice to see the ACG on the front. That shape has now joined the others in the ACG stable.

Kiwi
I can't see a lot more there than you'd get through talking to people in one of these forums TBH. It just bundles up selected snippets into a convenient to access package and they charge you a subscription for it. You could probably get the same information from Talkbass by using the search function. I've noticed there seem to be a few 'online magazines' now as well so it'll be interesting to see how long they all survive. We were kind of going for the same thing with the Wiki I guess, hoping that members would contribute or pinned topics would get transferred over but...? Mmmm. johnnylager
Lucky sod, he's not married is he? And I'd wager that if he had a canine companion, it would be be of a colour one or two shades darker than mine too! Do you think he'd lend me his Orange stack for the weekend? mike257
Pfft, I was about to berate him, along the lines of "Hasn't even got any Ampeg", then I saw the B-15. Not that I'm remotely jealous. At all. No

macmrkt
Hi, Thanks for discussing us! I am the publisher of Bass Gear. I'm also an 'anglophile' as well having worked in the high-end audio industry for many years and found my soul mates in British makers such as Linn and Naim. On the bass side, I have several Sei basses...so I am envious of the great gear that comes from the UK. My favorite bass magazine is the UK Bass Guitar magazine. We will endeavor to make our publication a worthy adjunct to Bass Guitar. I'll address the circulation questions and I'll have Tom chime in to answer the others. We are definitely well on our way to finishing the first issue. It will be out in April. Then we are on for every 2 months, possibly increasing in year 2. Subscriptions, advertising and the business side are going very well - we're already 'in the black'. We are not owned by a big publishing company so we can do as we please. Tom and I are the managing directors. Sorry for any hang-ups on subscribing. The phone number request was put in just in case a subscriber's e-mail didn't work or was changed - it would be a way for us to contact you and get the right information. Your individual sign-up info will NEVER be sold or given to anyone other than Tom, myself and my programmer (who is very honest - he's had my banking information for many years!) However, you can put in a '999...' phone number if you choose. Just check back with us in May if you haven't gotten your first issue! Other requested info should be able to be bypassed. If there's any problem, contact me at [email protected] and I'll fix it. Thanks very much for your interest!
