Attilla Balogh Odyssey Bass

Hi,

Does anyone have any info on the above bass. I understand that they were Canadian built between 1975 - 1982.

The guy himself apparently died in a car crash in 1987.

Did you buy that one that was on Ebay recently?

I have no info personally on them but many years ago, I used to drool over one in a local shop - it was very well made but was in that shop for around 5 years - lovely bass!

I've tried a couple, quite nice basses. The information you've got there is about the extent of my knowledge as well, unfortunately!! I've seen some discussion about them on Talkbass, though, so you might have a bit more luck there.

I found a really good site ages ago about Odyssey, but I'm fecked if I can find it now. Our guitarist has an Odyssey guitar - I believe they all had DiMarzio pickups in although I can't comment on the bass. His guitar is a bloody good piece of kit.

I played a couple about 10 years ago and they were excellent basses.. Reminded me at the time of JayDee basses for some reason.. They were certainly of that quality! I haven't seen one for years though..
