lanark Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Double necked guitars always look like something alien that's come out half-baked from John Carpenter's The Thing Quote

Lfalex v1.1 Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Errr... That ain't no Dingwall. Looks kind of Germanic in a Warwick sort of a way... Quote
Evil Undead Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 (edited) The headstock looks like a Warwick shape EDIT: Would ya look at that, it is a Warwick Edited July 21, 2011 by Evil Undead Quote
krazy_olie Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I was going to say "what's the point" then realised it was fretless on the top! Nice. Now to add a 12 string on the 3rd neck Quote
BigRedX Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Unfortunately more proof that the designers at Warwick are visually challenged. Quote
Truckstop Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I would put forth to you all that that is one of the nicest double necks I think I've ever seen! It looks understated, classy, clean, simple and classic. Im pretty sure the pricetag is as eye-watering as usual though! Truckstop Quote

It makes me wonder if the latest lot of Warwick "endorsees" have had a competition between themselves to see who can persuade Warwick to make the most ridiculous instrument. So far it's a toss-up between this and the Adam Clayton monstrosity. Quote
Muzz Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 17lbs... he's still got a strong back then... I like BigRed's idea of pros winding up Warwick for the ugliest bass they can think of. It's a tough call, but Mr.Clayton's still winning... Quote

Turk Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 It's not something I'll be adding to my wish list. Quote
Blademan_98 Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I would have one...... I would prefer a cheaper price tag Quote

It's the one thing that keeps me at least the tiny bit interested in Warwick; the fact that they pretty much will do whatever you want to your bass, providing you've got a lot of money. It's becoming a bit rare to see as people gravitate towards more traditional bass guitars. Warwick like the Lamborghini of the bass world, in fact quite literally now that Lambo are putting Audi engines in their cars. Quote
BasH Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 So.... that's what they mean with 'double bass'. Quote

Warwick's current philosophy on custom models seems to be following that of the small-time luthier who proudly proclaims that they will build you anything you want, and like them the end result may be a fine example of woodworking skills, but taste and ergonomics rarely enter into it. Besides nowadays there are so many manufacturers and luthiers making such a wide variety of bass guitars that the need to have someone like Warwick cobble you together in instrument that they have no real feel for has become unnecessary. The bass in the OP is not my thing whatsoever, in fact most Warwicks nowadays aren't my thing. But it is interesting, and it will get people talking about the brand. Mad instrument, sure, but we're a forum full of people who (for better or for worse) are talking about their products because of this instrument. Edited July 22, 2011 by risingson Quote
