Look at these pictures, in the Flicr link, below. Showing a [i]*Fender Jaco Pastorious custom shop heavy relic jazz bass*[/i] that shows a reasonablyl professional job. No [i]'sanded to within an inch of its life' [/i] in the hands of the guys at the Fender custom shop. Its still obviously a relic, but done by a person who has a modicum of restraint. Which is ironic considering that it was (supposedly) Keith Richards started the whole relicing craze.
