Hobbayne Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) I picked up this 12 year old Squire P Bass from ebay for only £150. Its based on a '60's Precision with bridge cover, tugbar with tort pickguard and what seems to be the now obligatory "fake" Fender headstock logo. Just needed a tweak of the truss and a new set of Elite players and it sings like a bird!! Edited July 23, 2011 by Hobbayne Quote
EdwardHimself Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Looks great. You would never guess it was a squire. Quote
Blademan_98 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Really nice! I got my Squire for £150 from Bass Chat It too has the Fender Logo Quote
Hobbayne Posted July 23, 2011 Author Posted July 23, 2011 Cheers guys, it was nice to hear that familar Precision sound again - even it is only a Squier athough I must confess I,m not a fan off those dome topped control knobs! Quote
gary mac Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 That does look tasty. Know what you mean about the dome topped knobs, they just somehow look a bit cheap and nasty. Changed the ones on my recent Squier project for proper fender flat top ones. Quote
Hobbayne Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 I was thinking about a pickup cover for this, I think I might go the whole vintage look, what do you think?? Quote

Blademan_98 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I've just bought an 'ashtray' for my Squier / Fender-alike Jazz. I don't know why, it just looks good Quote
Hobbayne Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Where those original bridge covers there to mute the strings? (Stingray)? Or purely for decoration? There's no rubber or foam under mine. Quote
