The Burpster
turns out I can help a wee bit.... 1. I believe its not a cruise bass, I think you'll find its a Chaparral. Cruise was bolt on and 2 xJ pups. Chaparral was P/J- set in neck as you describe.... 2. This is no bad thing as its worth a bit more. 3 Blue book says Between $850 for a minter and $450 for a knacker..... 4. as that roughly equates $=£ you work out its condition and price it accordingly.... 5. Would be best to work out exactly what it is first as you may want to keep it....
Geddys nose
Nice bass and I like the colour too, Surely it is a Cruise bass they did them glued necked on the early ones- http://uk.geocities.com/largeat/bass.html
cetera
It's definitely a Cruise bass...... the Chapparal had short horns and was generally more squat (less Jazz-like). I would guess you could get between £400 - £600 for it....
Stu-khag
cheers for the replies guys... this forum is an invaluable resource for the likes of me. Ive been looking at it today and something doesnt feel right about the finish, a possible refin methinks but not 100% Im going to get it serviced as I dont feel comfortable setting it up myself and get an opinion on whether its a refin. all the best stu
