pietruszka
Hey, As the title says, the finger board on my (Dads) Aria Pro II SB 900 is lifting, to about the 3rd fret. I'm tempted to slip some glue in there and clamp it, but Dad loved this bass so I'm even more tempted to take it to a luthier and get a new fretboard on it completely. Does anyone know if this is an expensive job? Does any one recommend a particular someone? Was this a common thing on old Arias? This is a 1983 bass. Cheers! neepheid
I've fixed such a problem before - I used a syringe to squeeze plenty glue in the crack then clamped the hell out of it for 24 hours. It's probably worth trying that first before you go to the extremes of fretboard replacement. The worst thing that'll happen is the glue won't take and you take the fingerboard off anyway.
