Pete Academy Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Not necessarily the best. Living or dead. My choice is Marcus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2dnerYZs-c...feature=related Quote
Pete Academy Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 His slap solos are just so rhythmic and musical, without resorting to showing off his technical ability. He also looks so cool when performing. Quote
Doddy Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I agree. I think Les Claypool is pretty cool too Quote

kevin_lindsay Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Everyone has their own reference ppiints. For me, it's always been Pino Palladino. Saw him live on New Years Evw 1981 and it changed my perception of how fluid a bass player could be. And, even though he's now a friend of mine, I am still inspired by his playing. Quote
Clarky Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) For floppy hat, flares and glove-wearing it has to be Nigel silddx Otherwise I'd go for Paul Simonon ... and DEFINITELY NOT this guy Edited July 28, 2011 by Clarky Quote
Geddys nose Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) Coolest as in looks without a doubt- Paul Simonon. Beat to it! But +1 to the above post. Edited July 28, 2011 by Geddys nose Quote

Blademan_98 Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 If we are just talking cool, then my mate Dave March in the band 'The Shuffle' is pretty cool I've known him for years and he also plays drums, guitar and keys! (You didn't say they had to be famous!) Quote
