paul, the
It might be all OK. I can understand why he's done it. If it's bought and the transaction is smooth and successful he'll save about £65 on Ebay fees. How do those folks at Ebay sleep at night? slaphappygarry
I bet its pulled in no time at all. eBay will be all over that in no time and close it down. G

G
True. I think the rule of thumb is if anyone tried to avoid paying ebay / paypal money the auction is history. If someone is selling an obvious fake or scam item, but ebay / paypal make money out of it, then it's on the back burner............. Jean-Luc Pickguard
All I could see was a load of pretentious mumbo jumbo. If he doesn't want to pay ebay fees he should sell it elsewhere.
Waldo
Someone should pay the £1 asking price and then complain to ebay that they won't give you the item. It's supposed to be legally binding Edited June 11, 2007 by Waldo

Hamster
Yep, the description is amazing, since the guy doesn't own the bass... I'm sure, judging on the guy's feedback, that he fully intends on acquiring the bass for the auction winner, and that the £1000 difference between his and Bass NW's is entirely for shipping and taxes.
Nice work - were you ever in Police Squad? MB1
MB1. be) just wondering how the law stands on that one.if youd been stupid enough to bid the pound, youd be entering a legally binding deal to cough up the other £3000+ he so casually mentions, while driving the point home!ARE YOU GOOD ENOUGH?,STUPID enough more like.dont get me wrong nice bass, but not within everyones grasp.how many times have you just put that pound on to get the ball rolling(obviously knowing full well, youre going to be outbid, but just to put the item in your bid list).goes to show, it pays to read the small print, and on ebay if it looks too good to be true,it generally is!!! Waldo
I'm tempted to press 'buy it now', pay the £1 then report him to ebay when I don't recieve the item, get my £1 back and then laugh as he has to pay his listing fees again.
