I have finally decided to sell my Fender Urge bass at last after a lot of debating with myself..
I don't want to trade as I could do with the money rather than another bass.

The bass itself is in great condition with the odd little dent on it but it adds to the character of the bass if you ask me! :)
You can see these little marks on the pictures I have enclosed. This instrument is American made, looking at the serial number I think it was made around 1992/3. So here are the specs:

Alder Body, Maple Neck, 32" Medium Scale Fingerboard.
Active pre-amp comprising of the following;
2 Jazz bass pick-ups in bridge and neck positions,
1 Precession bass pick-up in centre,

Master Volume
Jazz bass pick-up Blend on a concentric potentiometer,
3-Position Mini Pick-up Selector Switch selects either the Jazz bass Pick-ups, the Jazz bass & Precession bass pick-ups, or the Precession bass Pick-up alone.
Bass cut & boost, Treble cut & boost
4-Position rotary switch selects Passive, Active Treble boost, Active bass boost and Master Off modes
Black Gototh machine heads,
Gold bridge with through body stringing.

The bass has a electric blue finish, I haven't seen any other Urges this colour and I fitted it with a black scratch pad instead of the original white one because I think it looks a lot prettier! It also comes with an original Fender case which provides the instrument with the care and protection it deserves. There are no marks on the bass case, also I will enclose a detailed key of what the controls do and how to use them on this bass. Slapping sounds awesome on this bass and tapping sounds great too. Its a very versatile instrument which can provide the player with a variety of beautiful sounds! As the bass can either be traditional jazz/P bass passive sound or a amazingly responsive active beast these basses are becoming collectors items. I have looked at a few going on Basschat and one went for £950 I guess these basses hold there value. I'm now willing to accept £750ono for my Urge.

So if your interested please PM me.

Here are the pics, I also have a few more if anyone would like to see them again, PM me.

Sometimes there is a smiley next to the title of other threads.[/quote]

I think there meant to to grab peoples attention lol, I used mine so I could easily recognise my thread so I can bump it and so on.

Would love to try this bass, I previously bought a Stu Hamm Urge II bass as I wanted 2 basses in 1, a precision and jazz but sadly it didn't sound like either, very very bright and I would say more for slapping which I do not do. How does this bass sound compared to that? is it darker at all?

It is a very versatile instrument as it has both active and passive modes and jazz and precision pick-ups, I haven't tried a Urge II bass so I can't tell you the difference there, but I did get a wide selection of sounds that were reminiscent of a vintage jazz and also with the passive mode and bridge pick-up on you can get a great fingerstyle funk sound. If your interested you could come and try it out, I doubt you will find the same model in a bass shop as I have never seen one. I'm in south Manchester at the minute if your near why not come and see if you like it?

Indeed, and much to it's credit it sounds far better than either a precision or jazz ever could! If I hadn't just bought my Zoot fretless I would have been after this, since I love Stuart Hamm's tone - although recordings with the first Urge bass are actually very few!
