also people have been saying the line out is very hot,

is this the kind of attenuator people are talking about?

Yep, that's the one... The other trick is to change the preamp valves from 12AX7 to 12AT7's or something less gainy. Apparently it reduces the "hotness" of the DI output as well.

I have the TB, which I love.. to be honest, I can't see your need for the OBC115 with the 4x10

The Terror kicks out loads of bottom end and the OBC410 by it's self is a beast and cab handle F*CK loads of bottom end. So just get that..

..Or If you have that much funds, you might as well get the Ad200 with a OBC410.. it would sound miles better than the Terror Bass and I'm a terror bass fan, but if you get decide to get the terror bass change the valves

And yes the salesman wants your money.

Def. When I had an OTB 500 watt version, I put it through a 4 ohm Marshall 412. For gigs, gain & volume both on 2, in a punk band. That got me a fairly clean sound, any more on the gain, and it would have started distorting, but still huge amounts of head-room left.

I can`t imagine how a 1000 watt version of this amp could be used, in order to get the full 1000 watts - maybe to blow out the windows of The O2?

Sorry I'm a little deaf?! Can you say that again A LITTLE BIT LOUDER? I've just got back from rehearsal and me tinitus is givin me right jip...

I like the character of the amp with not a huge amount of gain so I went for the 1000W so I could just have more of what I wanted :) and then turn up the gain for fun lol LOADS of clean head room though :)

Hey,

I'm not sure if this is going to be entirely helpful but I use the Terror 500 and have never really been able to push it too hard, even in loud loud loud situations. I can't see the need for the 1000 watt version. I was using it with an Ampeg SVT610HLF and it moved some serious air with the Terror.

And yes, the D.I is too hot, not really usable as things stand. You need the attenuator! I've not looked into changing the valves though.

The Orange gear is awesome though. I want to get a cab next...not sure which one though.

Thanks
Jamie
