geoffbyrne
Shave the top of the thumb on your picking hand? I have hairs growing on the back of my right thumb which sometimes catch on the bottom (in this case the B ) string. And it hurts, plus there's a risk of infection. So I shave to top of my right thumb for comfort. Anyone else? G. Edited August 2, 2011 by geoffbyrne

Roland Rock
You don't strike me as the slapping sort, Geoff. Other than that, I find it difficult to imagine a circumstance where the back of my thumb would ever be near the string. Maybe it's a five strinng thing. Maybe Elixirs would help if you wanted to keep your thumbs as nature intended.

Sometimes I kind of tuck my thumb into my palm when I'm reaching across to play the D or G and that's when it catches. Anyway, this fixes it. G.
