gsgbass Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I just played A Blacktop Precision at local Sam Ash store. It was ok, but not that great. The Squiers were better finished, for less cash. Didn't care for that style bridge on it. The fretboard was pretty rough. The neck itself on this one felt ok though. Sound didn't do that great either. I guess if you have to have a bass that's lower in price than a MIM Std., and has a Fender decal on the head, that's it. For real playing, a Squier, or a MIM Std. Quote

Eight Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Another +1. Tell us about the sound. I was hoping to go try the Blacktop P and J this weekend but that's not going to happen now. I'm particularly interested in the jazz to be honest - assuming it's a nice mix of a jazz body with a precision-esque sound. Quote
