Greg Phillinganes plays keyboard bass on two or three tracks and Abraham Laboriel does one track (maybe two) on 'What Cha Gonna Do For Me'. Pretty sure Will Lee only plays on 'Chaka'. It was my first real exposure to her albums in the late 80s, and the track Be Bop Medley just blew my head off. If my memory serves me right it's not up there with Naughty and Watcha but still a fantastic album that would evoke so many memories for me. Have to say he made full use of that, as well, but even so, a luxury not often repeated for a studio band. But then looking at the line-up..that must have been some budget as it was pretty much NY's first call all on the same gig. I think Cissy Houston would have been on most tracks as she was a pre-eminent backing vox at that time, and it is also where she ( Whitney) probably got the idea for 'I'm every woman' which made her. Arif Mardin must have been mad for letting him do it, but if you're that passionate about a project then why not. It's still mind-blowing bass playing though, so intense and harmonically interesting.
