I need to move my simms-watts pa100. It's going 300 miles in the back of a van without me, so my naturally paranoia wants me to remove all the tubes and wrap them all in 50 feet of bubble wrap (possible exaggeration) and pack them seperately. I know the pre-amp tubes are fine but can I pop out the power tubes and put them back without biasing? Or should I just go to plan B and stuff the innards with bubble wrap (which is how Tayste shipped it to me and it survived).

Me thinks you worry too much :) I would get a big enough box, assuming you don't have a flight case & wrap the whole amp in bubble or foam to fill around it.

Also assuming you know who will be handling it & they know it's a delicate bit of kit :)

Stuff the innards with bubble wrap I've shipped like 4 tube amps like this and all have arrived safely.

Also wrap the outside in bubble wrap and put it all in a box full of bubble wrap or shopping bags

Number them and pull them, putting back in the same place makes no odds. When was it last biased and how old were the valves when it was done? Bias will ahve moved a bit anyway if they were new since they wore in.
