What do the knobs do on a passive stingray

I picked up a Vintage Stingray, it's got three knobs, and one pickup. I'd assume 1xvol and 1x tone, but what's the third one for? to be honest, apart from the vol, the other two seem to do very little. I briefly had a look at the wiring but nothing jumped out at me....

Can't speak for the Vintage, but on OLP copies, the pickup is wired as front and back coils with seperate volumes for each and one tone.

It's not that, the second coil wires are neatly wired together. Although, that's a plan.....

could be a bass roll-off.

I took it apart again, it's wired as vol, tone, tone. Although the cap was broken off the second tone knob. What would the effect of running one tone control into another be? I'm probably not going to bother fixing it, i'll wire it like an OLP.

Remember to use linear pots for that genuine "all or nothing" OLP tone!
