Dom in Dorset Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I'll be in Brum over the weekend, any music shops worth visiting? I lived there 20 years ago , things have changed a lot since then. Quote
yorick Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 PMT just out past Millenium Point. GuitarGuitar on the Hagley Rd, Fairdeal on Smallbrook Queensway. Think there's one in the jewelry quarter as well, but i think that's more high tech stuff. Quote
yorick Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Also, City Music in Queensway Arches, near where the old Bass Place shop was, and just round the corner from the old Musical Exchanges. Quote
glitterskinjim Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 PMT just outside the city centre is the nuts! Large shop, good range of stock and helpful staff (well the two who helped me out last time i was there were!) Quote
Jamesrt2004 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 PMT easily the best in birmingham but take the short trip to leamington for bass stuff =D Quote
simon1964 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited)
PMT easily the best in birmingham
PMT is fantastic, but the new GuitarGuitar store on Hagley road had some great stock too when I was there a couple of months back. Fairdeal is a decent general shop, but the bass stock is a bit limited. City Music has lots of stuff in for a small shop, and last time I was there had one or two interesting basses (including a couple of G&Ls, I think). All worth a visit, although PMT and GuitarGuitar are a bit of a way out of teh City Centre Edited August 12, 2011 by simon1964 Quote
Happy Jack Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 So if we see news reports of music shops being looted in Brum this weekend ... Quote
