CliveT
Where can I hear some recordings of a Fender fretless Jazz bass, or Jazz style bass Lakland etc, with flatwound strings?

Cyrene
Pretty sure the bassline on Bad Company's 'Feel Like Makin' Love' was made using the above.
Stacker
Why dont you just try a set? It's the only way you'll know. I used rounds for years - even on my fretless basses - but I got a fretless Jazz that had a LIGHT (.40-.100) set of flats on it and I really liked them, esp played with both pups on full but plucking over the front of the front pup. Try'em!

bigjohn
That's a non-export Jap 65 reissue (US pups) through an SVT-IIP ->Power Amp-> Schroeder 1212L. Not sure how much of it is mixed with the DI. TI Jazz flats fingerstyle. Both pups on full, tone rolled right up. [edit] - didn't read the fretless bit.
