I played the Barefaced midget at a pretty large hall against a compact PA, a 30 watt 1x12 combo and a drummer and it was still plenty loud enough. Tighter is a nice way to put "flat" as the midrange notes sound like midrange notes and not either inaudible low or shrill highs, and for me where I use a fair bit of Root and octaves the notes sound more coherent with each other.
