Kalim Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Hi all, I have just had a Ciare Tweeter replaced in my Techsoundsystems ND210 cab but I am still getting a crackling, interference typed of sound. I have tried different basses and they have quite active EMG circuits but the problem still persists even after changing leads and location. I have made sure that the correct polarity has been adhered to when fitting my new Ciare tweeter. When I set it to off, the tweeter problem is no more so it is not the speakers that are making this sound as they sound fantastic. Could this be a result of the protective circuitry in the crossover? This is driving my patience as I can't seem to get this sorted so I would appreciate any pointers. Cheers Kalim Quote
icastle Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Does the cab have a rheostat used to turn the tweeter volume up and down? If so, that would be the best suspect if you've already replaced the tweter. HTH Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Cracking sounds is usually a bad connection somewhere, follow along the path. Quote
EBS_freak Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Have you looked at your amp? Possible grounding problem? Take you cab out of the equation by trying it with a different amp. Quote

Kalim Posted April 27, 2024 Author Posted April 27, 2024 Thank you all. I took it to an electronics specialist and played my bass through it, and it was neither the cab nor the bass amp but my bass. The fitting of my new bass circuit was causing it, after all that! All sorted; a bit embarrassing, to say the least. Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 Does this break some sort of record for longest time to sort a problem...? 2 Quote
Kalim Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 (edited) It must do Lol, I purchased a Cire Tweeter from Germany too and found I did not need it after all, but now I have a spare one, which rather costly I can tell you. Edited April 29, 2024 by Kalim 1 Quote
