Slipperydick
I’m going to refurb my old Bassman 100. Thinking of either Chungyang or Russian Military grade 6L6s Anybody on the forum got any experience of them, which are better, last better etc ? Bias at 35mA, or anybody know better ? Mr. Foxen
I'd look at the caps before you look at the valves.
Slipperydick
I'd look at the caps before you look at the valves.
I intend to replace all the usual suspects, I got it second hand about 18 years, and its been unused since, It has 4 odd, - different makes - 6L6s in so they will have to go, along with the screen feeds which have been replaced with 390 ohm 1 Watts by somebody else in the past. When these were current amps, and I was an engineer in consumer electronics I must have repaired dozens of Fender valve amps, along with most other amps from the time. But that was back when valves from mainstream manufacturers like Mullard etc. were the norm, Chinese valves were unheard of, and Russian ones only seen in Rigonda Bolshoi radiograms. 35mA bias is from memory, so might not be perfect. Which is why I asked the question. Edited August 16, 2011 by Slipperydick
