Pickup fixing screws

I have recently treated myself to some genuine Fender pups for my bitza jazz bass. Only trouble is I noticed that when I screwed them in the screws were just catching on the side of the pups. They went in fine but are dragging a little. I know it is a bit Anoraky! but does someone have the screw dimensions as it looks like I am going to have to address this problem. The screws I used held in the old knackered "bitza" pups and look like small thin black roundhead screws, obviously there is a subtle difference. The screws are gripping the plastic tight and not letting the pups rise properly to adjust their height.
