Damn right, I've got Brycebites' old one and it's mucking farvellous. Splendid amp, well worth it even if it means Tesco Value baked beans.

agreed i've had one for about 6 years now and its been a very solid, reliable workhorse of an amp. Pretty versatile and easy to get a lot of very usable sounds out of it...

and for that kind of money it'd be rude not to buy it!

Yeah go for it, had one for nine years now and its never once given any trouble. Just treat it to a nice quality tube for the pre amp, the ones they fit as standard dont do it justice. Find a nice mullard.

They can sound a little fuller and warmer when you use the tube pre-amp, but they certainly are not the traditional definition of 'thump'. You can fake the thumpy sound by dialling in the bass and taking all the treble off, but you're better off getting an Ashdown ABM if it's thump you're after.
