I'm popping round to this guy's house tomorrow (we're in the same town) to have a look - I need a "little" cab for little gigs. Is £250 a fair starting price? Anything I should look out for? Will also post in Amps and Cabs if that's OK...
Happy Jack
Excellent cabs - I used to have two of 'em. This is NOT a "little" cab unless you're comparing it to an 810 or something. It weighs about 60lbs and puts out a very considerable amount of volume! £250 is not a great price. I bought my two for £500 the pair in 2007 (in near-mint condition), sold them for £250 each in 2009 (still in near-mint condition), and the state of the economy means that prices have only gone down since then. I wouldn't pay more than £200 for this example, if I was up for buying it at all. Worth noting that the reason I sold them was that I bought my first Barefaced cab - the very first ever Big One. That put out more volume and (IMO) better tone than a single D210XLT, and no pub gig was ever going to need the capabilities of a pair of D210XLT's. Add to that the fact that the Big One weighs 38lbs and is on wheels, and we have a winner.
Merton
Cheers! I think the weight is the thing that concerns me most spec wise but your comment on price is definitely something to bear in mind. Will still go and see it, maybe if it doesn't sell I can haggle
