cureswhatailsye
I've been listening to the soundtrack from Disney's Hercules and transcribing a couple of tunes and there is some amazing playing on it. I know it's Disney and potentially soul-less, but the songs by Alan Menken and performances (by Jocelyn Brown in particular) are great if you're into soul/gospel. To the main point - does anyone have any idea which players may be on this? I assume it's probably more than one but can't find album credits anywhere. Enjoy if you've never listened to it before. The spotify URI is spotify:album:79xGkf1594kBEtCIaL6yKj.
Eight
Some of the music in Disney films is truly exceptional. Unfortunately I can't help with your question, though I'd be curious to find out.
risingson
Disney are notoriously bad at listing their musical personnel, and yes the bass playing is always top notch. Probably a well known L.A guy like Neil Stubenhaus but I wouldn't like to second guess!
Randy_Marsh
Much like risingson I wouldn't like to second guess, but I have seen Abe Laboriel pop up on a few Disney scores Edited August 20, 2011 by Randy_Marsh
Conan
I was about to post a similar question! Alan Menken also did the soundtrack for "Little shop of horrors". The bass style sounds similar to the Herc soundtrack. To my ears it sounds a bit like a Stingray...? Doesn't sound like Abe to me... but does sound a bit like Stubenhaus. Surely someone must know?! lowdown
The chances are that there were different players involved. Try his management company [Alan Menken] - Kraft-Engel Management. Email them for the personal - who knows ? On the other hand they might tell you to feck off and mind your own business... wateroftyne
Disney music? Soul-less? Never! The Princess and the Frog, anyone? Jam
+1 for the Disney soundtrack love! Disney can be a bit polarising but the music is almost always outstanding.
Dad3353
I may have mis-read the question... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sShMA85pv8M ...I don't think it was The Who playing for that film...
