far0n Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Was considering getting a couple of RS212 cabs and wanted to stack them end on end. Thing is the cabs themselves look quite narrow and I have visions of them toppling over if given a bit of a knock. I've got my amp, compressor and tuner in a rack mount that I was planning on sitting on top so this may well make it quite top heavy. Do they cabs lock into to each other properly or do they simply sit on top of each other ? Ta folks. Quote

The 12's are a lot deeper than the 10's and more stable but I think you'd be pushing the stability envelope with a big old rack unit on top. You could strap the handles to each other with a bungy or something to make it more stable. Quote
BottomE Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I have a 212 and a 210. I only stacked them once like that as i was paranoid it would come tumbling down. In retrospect it was very sturdy and would probably be ok but the thought of it all crashing down "live" is too much of an uneccessary headache. Quote
bassmanady Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) I have 2x10's and i must admit it does make me nervous when i do need to stack them end to end,due to lack of space. the cabs are also rounded, reducing the area, not a good design in that respect. I think the 2x12 being deeper and heavier would be better tho' Edited August 23, 2011 by bassmanady Quote
charic Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) I'm also in the nervous camp, I will be getting a second 2x10 but I may have them in a a shape like this _I_ Edited August 23, 2011 by charic Quote
Musicman20 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 You could always put them horizontal...on top of each other. Quote
Low End Bee Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I stick my RS210 on top of my RS112 with no problems. Only got an Orange Terror to cope with on the top though. Quote
Truckstop Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Put the rack stuff on the floor? Truckstop Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Rack stuff at the bottom of the stack, be a rebel. Quote
