Ou7shined
A lot of spunky love in this thread. Am I detecting another case of Sue Ryder syndrome?

However, I've never heard what a Crafter or an Aria Jazz sounds like and I have heard the Willows, which is why my original question was "is this the BEST SOUNDING 300 quid you can spend?" I didn't say "is this the best sounding JAZZ BASS COPY you can spend 300 quid on?" Sarcasm, you say? I didn't detect any!

hillbilly deluxe
Having played a Crafter Jazz an Aria legend,Squier Affinity, squier VM,and several other Jazz copies at gigs they all sound like Jazz basses, the Squier VM being the best, but only slightly. Killerfridge
You can find all the videos on Youtube as well: I'm actually really liking the "Amazon" bass. If only it came in 5 string

Sibob
All the Jazzes look very 'asian', by that I mean all the brands like Willow, Atielier, Bacchus have a particular vibe I think. The Willow singlecut is lush Si

mike257
I remember checking these out when kennyrodg picked his up a couple of years ago - IIRC you can spec the whole thing from their range of stock parts/finishes at a pretty reasonable cost - I'd be tempted if I wasn't permanently skint lately! Tradfusion
Anyone figure out how to contact these guys? KennysFord
Hey Guys, I'd thought I'd drop by Basschat as I've not been around for a while. Anyway, I spotted a couple of recent "Spunky" threads and saw my name mentioned so I thought it bad manners not to reply. I must say that I got really lucky with mine, I paid for it when it was $2 to the £ and on the very day that the pound started to fall against the dollar, in fact the bass went up iirc £20 or thereabouts the very next day. It cost me £285 including soft case and shipping and as an added bonus the postie delivered it free of any import duty. The ordering process was very simple, I emailed them first with the spec I wanted, ie SRAW Alder body, Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard,Perloid blocks and White Binding, we agreed a price then there were two or three phone calls during the week and that was it. The Bass arrived less than a week after it was shipped. Build quality is excellent and everyone who has played it has commented on how good it is. I took it to a very good luthier in Bolton for a set up and he commented that it was as good as any American Jazzer he'd come across (his words not mine)That said however, I'm not a fan of the headstock hehe. To be honest It was the name that appealed to my sense of humour and as I was flush at the time (the good old days !!) coupled with me looking at the Squier VM range and wanting a Jazzer I thought what the hell. It turned out to be a good decision for me. I've since upgraded the Wilkinson Bridge and Tuners for Hipshot Items and it now sports Seymour Duncan Antiquity Pups. So, A couple of years on and I'm still loving the "Spunkster", the best £285 I think I've ever spent. Here she is, hope you likey.
