Hobbayne
I wouldnt bother with any of them. If I were you, I'd get myself a Squier VM Jazz. I,ve been playing umpteen years, and I use one as a back up bass.

Lozz196
With £150 I`d look at Squier basses, any of them. I had one of the Affinity Range Precisions as a backup, and was amazed at the quality and playability of this so called bottom of the line instrument. OK, soundwise it wasn`t a US Precision, but thats why it was a tenth of the price. But don`t be mislead by that - the US certainly doesn`t sound 10 times better. Def worth a look - check the For Sale on here, ebay, and even local Crack Converters.
Blademan_98
I got the Squier in my Avatar for £150 off BassChat. It's an active deluxe and plays really well. Superb value. Those on eBay you have listed are not great
Truckstop
Hmmm, new basses that cost that much new raise an eyebrow personally. All the modding in the world wont make a sh*t bass a good'un. Maybe put up an ad here "Wanted: Ultra cheap bass, £150 to spend". You'll be amazed at the offers you'll get. I'd rather wait around here for a while. Occasionally you can get some proper steals! I got my Gherson Jazz for £120 and, alright, it's certainly no world beater, but it sounds like a jazz, it works, it looks cool (plenty of mojo) and it doesnt really need upgrading. I would happily use it for a 3 hour gig without a worry. Those cheapo plywood chinese basses really arent worth the trouble IMHO. tm486
I'd go for a Bass collection. There is an SB301 in the for sale section at the moment for £150 and i absolutely love my active version. It plays fantastically and leaves room for any upgrades you want to do when you can afford it. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=145758 there is the passive one. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=152026 there is the active one if you can stretch a bit further. They seem to me to be really well made and i prefer mine to my ibanez sr500. Tom
Lozz196
This Squier P-Bass Special is a steal for £100 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=140705
Rayman
Please don't buy any of those basses you've listed, as pointed out above, they're poor quality, and you can do so much better by either taking your time and saving a bit more money, or searching for a better bass that could come up on here. I bought a cheap bass, similar to those for my 10 year old daughter, and even she thinks it's drfitwood, in fact we're hoping to have a woodburning stove put in before the winter, and guess what's going on it first? Take your time, something much better will pop up on here. Edited August 25, 2011 by Rayman
Dom in Dorset
I've triied a Westfield P bass and was impressed! I tried it next to a Squier (afinity?) P bass (it also had a jaz pick up) , of the two the Westfield had a better set up (out of the box) and a FAR superior tone. The Squier had a muddy tone in comparison. No idea what the Westfield jazz is like. If you current bass is a "cheap Jap thing" then unless it's also ancient , none of these basses are going to be much better than what you have already.
