Badass
If i wanted to hear this guy, Leland Skylar, at his best what you recommend? I am interested in his sound over the years, and his best grooves. So what would you advise I listen to from his massive catalogue to hear him at his best? chris_b
Listen to James Taylor's Mud Slide Slim album. Lee Sklar's playing on this and other JT albums is amazing.

He must be such a great drummer to work with- he's just THERE. Small-ish kit, no mega-tricks, just taste and conviction oozing from every pore. The guitar work isn't bad either.

chris_b
Sklar was also the bass player on Billy Cobham's Stratus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmX0Qc_hfrw

That said, I have Cobham's 'Mississippi Knights' record with Kai Eckhardt playing the bass on it and he certainly does a better job on Stratus than Sklar did. Badass
For some reason, and incorrectly, I always thought this was a Jeff Beck track. I'd seen him cover it and thought it was his...I now know it's not his. Thanks guys, I love this site !
